Cloud Network Engineer (Contract)
W2H only
Location: Remote (Onsite Preferred – Columbia, SC)
Contract Length: 6 Months
Pay Rate: $57.00/hour
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Cloud Network Engineer to join our CBIC Cloud Migration team. This role is critical in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable cloud network infrastructures across AWS and Azure environments. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure high availability, performance, and compliance of cloud-based systems.
Key Responsibilities
Design and manage cloud network components including VPCs, VNets, subnets, VPNs, route tables, NSGs, and load balancers.
Configure and troubleshoot VPN technologies in hybrid cloud environments.
Monitor and optimize network performance using tools like AWS CloudWatch and Azure Network Watcher.
Automate network provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or ARM templates.
Collaborate with DevOps, security, and application teams to support integrations and resolve connectivity issues.
Develop and document technical standards and ensure compliance with organizational policies.
Evaluate emerging technologies and provide recommendations for cloud network architecture improvements.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field; or equivalent experience.
8+ years of technical experience in systems analysis, design, or programming.
Strong hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure networking components.
Proficiency with VPN technologies and hybrid cloud configurations.
Experience with network monitoring and diagnostics tools (e.g., CloudWatch).
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM templates).
Agile development experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Scripting experience with Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
Experience automating network configurations and monitoring tasks.
Background in healthcare or government-regulated environments (HIPAA, CMS, etc.).
