World Wide Technology is looking for a Network Engineer. This job is part of WWT s Strategic Resourcing services. The candidate will be supporting a WWT customer and will be employed by one of WWT s preferred partners.
Job Overview:
We are seeking 2 skilled Network Engineers to support a large-scale hardware replacement initiative involving 200 250 end-of-life network devices across three data centers. This role is critical to ensuring a smooth transition from legacy Cisco and Arista hardware to new infrastructure already staged and available onsite. The successful candidates will work closely with hardware and data center teams to configure, test, and validate network replacements.
Key Responsibilities:
Configure and deploy new Cisco and Arista devices, ensuring a 1:1 configuration migration from legacy hardware.
Collaborate with hardware and data center teams to validate replacements and perform cutovers.
Create and manage configuration batching matrices for port mapping and cutover validation.
Support firewall configurations and integration primarily Palo Alto, with some Fortinet exposure.
Follow internal change management processes and coordinate with various internal teams.
Ensure end-to-end documentation and validation of all device replacements.
Work sequentially across 3 data centers (only one DC active for cutovers at any given time).
Participate in project coordination and status updates, helping track progress and blockers.
Required Skills & Experience:
3 5 years of hands-on experience with Cisco and Arista switches (configuration, CLI, deployment).
Solid working knowledge of network firewalls, especially Palo Alto; Fortinet experience is a plus.
Familiarity with network operating systems and command structures for both Cisco and Arista.
Experience supporting large-scale hardware replacement or network migration projects.
Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Basic project coordination or project management experience ability to manage tasks and coordinate with internal teams.
Nice to Have:
Experience working in or with large enterprise data centers.
Familiarity with batching and port mapping matrices during device replacements.
Certain states and localities require employers to post a reasonable estimate of salary range. A reasonable estimate of the current pay range for this position is $55.00 to $65.00 hourly. Actual pay will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs, and will be set by your employer. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in base pay.
