Position: ATE Test and Evaluation Engineer (Contract)
Location: Hauppauge, NY (On-site only)

We are looking for a highly experienced ATE Test & Evaluation Engineer for a contract position at a leading aerospace company in Hauppauge, NY. This is an on-site role supporting advanced test systems for military and aerospace applications.

Key Technologies (Must-Haves):

Software:

  • NI LabVIEW

  • NI TestStand (for ATP/ESS test development)

Hardware:

  • NI PXIe, PXI, PCI platforms

  • Integration of 3rd-party test hardware

Protocols:

  • ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, CAN, RS-232/485, RS422, TCP/IP, SPI, I2C, JTAG

Tools:

  • MKS, Enovia, DOORS, Oscilloscopes, Multimeters, DAQs, RF/Optical analyzers

Role Responsibilities:
  • Support, maintain, and upgrade NI PXI-based automated test equipment

  • Develop custom LabVIEW/TestStand applications for production testing

  • Provide technical support and resolve "line-down" production issues

  • Integrate and qualify new hardware into existing test systems

  • Perform troubleshooting, calibration, and system bring-up

  • Develop and maintain test documentation and procedures

  • Train production personnel and technicians

  • Review test results and recommend actions for any anomalies

Candidate Requirements:
  • 10+ years in test system software/hardware development

  • Deep experience in aerospace/MIL-grade product testing

  • Strong knowledge of NI platforms and protocols

  • Skilled in diagnosing test equipment issues and failure analysis

  • Experience with MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, DO-160, IPC-610

  • Proficient in reading schematics and working with embedded systems
