Akamai Technologies, Inc. is hiring for the following role in Cambridge, MA (multiple openings): Hardware Engineer II. Designing, creating, and realizing next-generation servers and embedded hardware that power Akamai's global CDN and Cloud services; Building, troubleshooting, and hands-on debug of prototype computers, motherboards, and embedded systems; Collaborating with industry partners and internal teams to design performant, efficient, and reliable computing systems; Implementing and validating embedded software and firmware functions for system bootstrapping; and Working at the forefront of Akamai's server development life cycle, from conception to manufacturing and deployment, delivering high-quality, reliable systems for both developers and customers. Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or Telecommunications Engineering, and 6 months of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.
\n
Must have Six (6) months of experience with the following: PCB design, schematics and layout; using lab instruments to test/debug PCB; preparing technical documentation; component selection; and working with databases to store components.

Compensation:

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from $121285 - $221400/year; a candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.

The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
