Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Kafka Infrastructure Engineer/Administrator to join our team. This role involves providing L3 Production Support, engineering solutions, and onboarding users to Kafka. The ideal candidate will analyze and identify existing production issues, recommend appropriate solutions, and ensure the smooth operation of Kafka infrastructure. This position requires expertise in Confluent Kafka, event-driven architecture, and scripting technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Provide subject matter expertise and hands-on administrative support for Confluent Kafka.
• Install, administer, and maintain Confluent Platform components, including Apache Kafka and related tools.
• Work with Event-Driven Architecture components such as Apache Kafka, Kafka Brokers, and Zookeeper.
• Develop and utilize scripting technologies like SHELL or Python for software automation.
• Implement and use monitoring and observability tools, including Splunk, Grafana, AppDynamics, and JMX, to ensure system health and performance.
• Analyze and identify problem causality, business impact, and root causes.
• Document requirements for complex, high-impact application enhancements and problem resolution.
• Identify risks, vulnerabilities, and security issues, communicate their impact, and propose risk mitigation options.
• Utilize ticketing tools such as JIRA and ServiceNow for issue tracking and collaboration.
• Plan and execute existing middleware integrations to Kafka with minimal disruption and optimal performance.

Qualifications:

• Strong administrative, L3, and engineering experience with Confluent Kafka.
• Proven ability to manage large-scale, multi-region Kafka cluster environments.
• Expertise in event-driven architecture components, including Apache Kafka and Zookeeper.
• Proficiency in scripting technologies such as SHELL or Python.
• Experience with monitoring tools like Splunk, Grafana, AppDynamics, and JMX.
• Strong problem-solving skills to identify root causes and recommend solutions.
• Experience with ticketing tools such as JIRA and ServiceNow.
• Knowledge of middleware integrations and their migration to Kafka.

Pay Range: $63 - $68

The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
