Job Title: Rubrik Backup Administrator
Department: IT Infrastructure / Data Protection
Role Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Rubrik Backup Administrator to manage and optimize enterprise backup operations using the Rubrik platform. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring data protection, recovery readiness, and compliance across virtual, physical, and cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Backup Configuration & Management
- Configure backup policies and SLA domains within Rubrik.
- Manage backup schedules for virtual machines (VMs), databases, file systems, and cloud workloads.
- Ensure successful execution of backup jobs and troubleshoot failures.
- Perform data recovery and restore operations for files, VMs, databases, and applications.
- Validate restore points and ensure data integrity during recovery.
Monitoring & Reporting
- Monitor backup job status, system health, and storage usage via the Rubrik dashboard.
- Generate and analyze reports on backup success rates, failures, and capacity trends.
- Perform cluster performance monitoring and routine health checks.
- Remove unused or decommissioned workloads from protection.
Compliance & Integration
- Ensure compliance with data retention and recovery objectives.
- Integrate Rubrik with external systems such as VMware, databases, cloud platforms, tape libraries, and monitoring tools.
- Use APIs or automation tools to streamline backup tasks and reporting.
- Ensure secure access to backup data and adherence to organizational policies.
Maintenance & Support
- Upgrade Rubrik cluster software and perform regular maintenance tasks.
- Investigate and resolve backup/restore issues.
- Coordinate with Rubrik support for escalations and advanced troubleshooting.
- Configure storage and archival solutions as needed.
Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with Rubrik backup and recovery solutions.
- Strong understanding of backup strategies, data retention policies, and disaster recovery planning.
- Familiarity with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware), databases, and cloud environments.
- Experience with automation tools and REST APIs for backup orchestration.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
Preferred Certifications:
- Rubrik Certified Systems Administrator (RCSA)
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
- AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Associate

Compensation and Benefits
A candidate s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies.
