Overview
Truist Bank is seeking a highly experienced SAS Data Analyst with strong expertise in SQL, SAS, and enterprise data warehouse concepts. The role involves supporting data analytics for audit and issue evaluations, including both one-time data pulls and more complex investigative analysis (e.g., identifying outliers). Candidates should have strong analytical skills, hands-on coding ability, and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Gather, analyze, and document data requirements related to business applications, reporting environments, and interfaces.
Perform detailed data analysis, data profiling, and validation across multiple datasets to meet business and audit needs.
Write, review, and enhance SQL queries and SAS programs for data extraction, manipulation, and reporting.
Identify, analyze, and interpret trends and patterns in large, complex datasets.
Collaborate with business analysts, audit delivery teams, and project teams to resolve data integrity issues.
Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues reported by production support or business stakeholders.
Work with ETL developers and analysts to validate data attributes and ensure consistent integration across systems.
Provide insights and recommendations for improving data integrity and governance.
Act as a liaison between Audit and Business teams to ensure data clarity and actionable reporting.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, IT, Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent experience.
12+ years of experience in data analytics, statistical analysis, data transformation, and reporting.
Expert-level SQL skills ability to write queries from scratch, including complex joins (no stored procedure dependency).
Hands-on SAS experience ability to analyze existing programs, perform code reviews, and develop new SAS programs.
Strong experience working with multiple datasets and applying Enterprise Data Warehouse concepts in large data environments.
Strong troubleshooting, data validation, and issue-resolution skills.
Ability to work effectively with business users and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
Experience with Python (secondary to SAS).
Banking/Financial Services industry experience.
Experience with Informatica or other data integration tools.
Audit-related experience.
