The Role: VP, Core Systems & Mainframe Security
Location: San Antonio, TX (must be onsite)
Type: Permanent
What You ll Do:
The Vice President of Core Systems and Security is responsible for leading the department s overall operations, ensuring effective management of core systems technology, hardware, software, and their integration with business systems and architectures. This role oversees departmental objectives, deadlines, and strategic initiatives that align with corporate goals while maintaining compliance with federal regulations, NCUA standards, and company policies. The VP evaluates and implements technology and vendor solutions to enhance processes, improve efficiency, reduce costs, and strengthen internal controls to protect from risk or liability. Additionally, this position manages the departmental budget, monitors performance against strategic goals, and drives employee performance to ensure operational excellence. The Vice President also participates in or leads enterprise-wide initiatives and performs other duties that support the organization s vision, purpose, and values.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related area,
- A minimum of eight(8) years of Information Technology and Information Security related to mainframe security or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 3 years of management experience.
- Experience managing an Enterprise Technology team and vendors.
- Ability to develop thorough knowledge of organizational and departmental processes, procedures and systems, company products and services, including the ability to resolve employee and member issues efficiently and with the highest degree of quality.
- Articulate verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking and interviewing experience.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple deadlines and priorities within a highly demanding, fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn organizational and/or departmental specific hardware and software systems, process, and procedures.
- Periodic travel to multi-regional locations, other cities, states and off-site locations and may include evenings, weekends and holidays.
