Job Description
Our client is seeking a highly skilled ServiceNow Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Software Asset Management (SAM) to join their remote team. This position requires an expert-level understanding of the ServiceNow platform—particularly the SAM Pro module—along with full-stack development capabilities, integration experience, and solid infrastructure and cloud knowledge. The ideal candidate will play a key role in the design, development, and implementation of ServiceNow solutions, with a particular focus on driving efficiency, compliance, and cost savings through effective SAM practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support ServiceNow SAM Pro implementations, serving as a hands-on SME.

  • Develop and maintain solutions across various ServiceNow modules, including ITSM, GRC/IRM, CMDB, Service Catalog, Discovery, and IT Asset Management.

  • Build custom applications and workflows using ServiceNow best practices.

  • Design and configure Service Portal and provide enhancements to improve the end-user experience.

  • Integrate ServiceNow with external platforms via APIs, web services, and other methods.

  • Analyze software usage and licensing data to identify cost savings and ensure license compliance.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, procurement, and finance for SAM lifecycle alignment.

  • Provide expert troubleshooting and support for issues related to SAM and other ServiceNow functionalities.

  • Maintain detailed documentation and ensure all solutions meet compliance, security, and audit standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of professional experience in ServiceNow development and implementation.

  • Proven hands-on experience with ServiceNow SAM —software discovery, normalization, reconciliation, and optimization.

  • Expertise in ServiceNow modules such as ITSM, GRC/IRM, CMDB, Service Catalog, Discovery, and IT Asset Management.

  • Strong development skills with proficiency in Java and JavaScript.

  • Solid understanding of enterprise infrastructure and IT operations.

  • Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.

  • Demonstrated experience in integrating ServiceNow with external platforms and enterprise systems.

Preferred Skills

  • ServiceNow Developer Certification; CIS-SAM preferred.

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret licensing data and publisher models (e.g., Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, Adobe).

  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and tools.

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fully remote environment.
