RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Network Engineer (Juniper) in New York, NY.
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Juniper Network Engineer to lead and execute a Juniper switch software upgrade project. This individual will be responsible for performing software-only upgrades of Juniper switches across multiple locations, validating device and workstation connectivity post-upgrade, and independently managing the upgrade process from planning through execution. This is a fully onsite role in Midtown NYC.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the end-to-end Juniper switch OS upgrade project, including preparation, execution, validation, and documentation
* Perform OS upgrades on Juniper switches - software upgrade only, no hardware installation
* Validate post-upgrade functionality across all connected workstations and devices
* Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to the switch upgrade
* Work independently across various locations, including remote sites and the main hospital
* Execute upgrades outside of business hours - primarily during weekends
* Maintain strong communication with internal teams to ensure minimal disruption
REQUIREMENTS:
* Experience validating network connectivity and resolving upgrade-related issues
* Strong, recent, hands-on experience with Juniper switches - including software upgrades and troubleshooting
* Proven ability to lead network upgrade initiatives independently
* Ability to travel locally to multiple facilities
* Must be available to work weekends for the upgrade implementation
* Professional, self-starter with the ability to hit the ground running
* Comfortable working in hospital or healthcare environments (experience preferred but not required)
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
Note: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable. The amount and availability of any compensation remains in Kforce's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified in its discretion consistent with the law.
