About the Role
We re seeking a well-rounded Senior QA Automation Engineer to help build and scale a robust automation testing framework from the ground up. You ll work closely with engineering teams to ensure quality across our front-end and back-end systems, helping validate new features and catch defects early in the lifecycle.
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who can handle both manual and automated test coverage and who enjoys digging into data, troubleshooting across systems, and driving improvements in testing processes.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks (Playwright preferred) for web applications and backend systems.
- Write, execute, and maintain detailed test cases in TestRail.
- Conduct manual testing for sanity and regression scenarios (sanity suite currently runs manually in ~1 hour).
- Work across front-end, back-end, and database layers to validate functionality and data integrity.
- Investigate issues through log analysis, API testing, and database queries to isolate root causes.
- Collaborate with developers and QA peers to ensure full test coverage and smooth deployments.
- Participate in sprint ceremonies and QA reviews using Jira and Confluence.
- Help establish best practices and drive automation coverage as new development teams come on board.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance Engineering, with a strong focus on automation.
- Proven ability to write and execute test cases for both front-end and back-end applications.
- Hands-on experience with automation tools (Playwright preferred; Selenium or Cypress also acceptable).
- Strong understanding of relational databases and ability to query data for validation and debugging.
- Comfortable testing APIs and integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with tools such as TestRail, Jira, and Confluence.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
- Able to work effectively across CST / MST / PST time zones.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building automation frameworks from scratch.
- Familiarity with GitHub version control and workflow automation.
- Background in eCommerce, ticketing, or payments-related systems a plus.
