VDart is seeking an experienced Wind Turbine Generator Equipment Engineer to play a critical role in the operation, troubleshooting, and performance optimization of wind turbine generators across North America. This non-managerial role focuses on ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and availability of large motor and generator systems that power renewable energy production.

You will collaborate with internal engineering teams, field service personnel, equipment vendors, and operations teams to support turbine maintenance, implement technical solutions, meet operational targets, and maintain the highest technical and safety standards.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Wind Turbine Generator Equipment Engineer with 3 5 years of experience working with large motors and generator equipment to join our Wind Fleet Electrical team. This role will be responsible for ensuring the reliable operation, maintenance, and performance optimization of wind turbine generators across North America.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical systems, proven troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise for electrical operations and maintenance of wind turbine generators.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and analyze large motor and generator performance issues.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and field service teams to maximize turbine uptime.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to technical best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 3 5 years of hands-on experience with large motors, generators, or rotating electrical equipment.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems in wind turbines or heavy industrial equipment.
  • Ability to work remotely with occasional travel to wind farm sites.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with wind turbine operations, SCADA systems, or renewable energy projects.
  • Knowledge of predictive and preventative maintenance techniques.
  • Familiarity with power generation controls and protection systems.
