Summit is seeking a Continual Improvement Analyst to join our team supporting a major state & local government customer. This position reports to the Continual Improvement Manager as part of the Architecture Team responsible for infrastructure IT strategy, enterprise and solution design, technology roadmap, System Security Plans (SSP) and Baselines, continual improvement, capabilities mapping, service continuity, and quality assurance services to a variety of geographically dispersed customers throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia (COV). This is a hybrid position located in Richmond, VA.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and facilitate continual improvement initiatives using established methodologies, such as Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, or Agile.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders from various customers throughout the COV to identify areas for improvement and prioritize improvement opportunities based on their impact on business goals and enterprise value.
  • Help conduct process assessments, root cause analysis, and performance evaluations to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for optimization.
  • Help develop and implement action plans and solutions to address identified improvement opportunities, including process redesign, automation, and technology enhancements.
  • Monitor and track the progress of improvement projects, ensuring that they are completed on time and within budget, and that targeted benefits are realized.
  • Establish performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of improvement initiatives and track ongoing performance.
  • Analyze data and generate reports to communicate the results of improvement efforts to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Facilitate training sessions and workshops to educate employees on continuous improvement methodologies and foster a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Drive change management activities to ensure the successful adoption of new processes and practices across the organization.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices, emerging trends, and new technologies related to continual improvement, and make recommendations for their adoption where applicable.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in process improvement, business analysis, or project management roles.
  • Strong knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and tools, such as ITIL, Lean Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping, and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving change in a collaborative environment.
  • Experience in supporting a large, complex IT environment for a Federal or State Government
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Familiarity with change management principles and practices to facilitate the adoption of new processes and practices across an organization
  • Excellent communicator and collaborator, capable of working independently, in small groups, or directly with customers.
  • Proficiency in continuous improvement methodologies and tools such as Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Root Cause Analysis, DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control), PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, Act), etc.
  • Certification in continuous improvement methodologies such as ITIL, Lean Six Sigma (e.g., Green Belt, Black Belt) is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software, such as Microsoft Excel, ServiceNow, PowerBI, or Tableau, is a plus.
