Network Engineer

Interviews will be face to face.
Duration of the Contract: 5/31/2026 with the possibility of extension

The position is on-site. Candidate MUST be a WI resident or willing to relocate to WI before starting the role.

Location: Milwaukee, WI (53205)

Seeking a senior-level technical professional for our client. The successful candidate would be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network infrastructure. This role requires advanced expertise in networking technologies and the ability to lead projects and mentor junior staff.

Requirements

Five years or more experience with the following top required skills:

1. Advanced Bridging and routing integration technologies

2. Trouble shooting LANs, WANs, and wireless

3. Proficient Firewall, ACLs, business to business access, Remote access

4. Network design

Nice to have skills:

1. Network monitoring and reporting

2. Security tools, log analysis

3. VoIP

Network Design & Implementation

  • Design and architect enterprise-level network solutions including LAN, WAN, wireless, and data center networks
  • Implement and configure advanced routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS)
  • Deploy and manage network security solutions including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS systems
  • Plan and execute network upgrades and migrations with minimal downtime

Operations & Maintenance

  • Monitor network performance and optimize for reliability, speed, and security
  • Troubleshoot complex network issues and perform root cause analysis
  • Maintain network documentation including diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures
  • Manage vendor relationships and coordinate with service providers

Security & Compliance

  • Implement network security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Conduct network security assessments and vulnerability testing
  • Respond to security incidents and implement remediation measures
  • Stay current with emerging security threats and mitigation strategies

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead network infrastructure projects from conception to completion
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior network engineers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including systems, security, and application teams
