We're looking for a Frontend Engineer to:
lead the design and development of intelligent, user-centric digital products and services that support our employees and HR stakeholders - with AI at the core
apply and promote modern engineering practices, from analyzing user needs and developing new features to automated testing, deployment, and observability
ensure the quality, security, reliability, and compliance of our solutions by applying UBS digital principles and implementing both functional and non-functional requirements
drive observability and operational excellence, proactively monitoring production health, resolving incidents, and addressing root causes of risks and issues
continuously upskill and explore new technologies and practices, reuse strategic platforms and standards, and make sustainable, forward-looking engineering decisions
share your knowledge openly, contribute to hiring and onboarding, and help shape a collaborative, forward-thinking engineering culture

Your team
You'll be part of the AI Engineering team within the GOTO Group HRCS Technology organization. Our mission is to simplify and digitize the HR application landscape while delivering AI-powered solutions that enhance the employee experience. Based in New York you'll work in an agile, autonomous pod alongside product managers, designers, and fellow engineers, with a strong focus on collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
Your expertise
Bachelor's degree in engineering or science or foreign equivalent
proven leadership in frontend engineering, with expertise in designing and scaling enterprise-grade web platforms using React, Next.js, and JavaScript/TypeScript
deep experience building scalable component libraries and UI frameworks aligned with design system guidelines (e.g., using Tailwind CSS, Storybook)
proficiency with GraphQL APIs and client libraries (e.g., Apollo Client)
practical experience with SSR/SSG/ISR in Next.js, including performance tuning
experience with frontend testing tools (e.g., Cypress, Playwright, React Testing Library)
skilled at leading frontend engineers through architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical mentoring, fostering a culture of clean, maintainable code.
a collaborative communicator - you express ideas clearly in English and adapt technical content for diverse audiences, while working closely with product managers, designers, and engineers in agile settings
hands-on experience with AI UI toolkits (e.g., Vercel AI SDK, CopilotKit, Assistant-UI) or frontend integration with LLMs is a strong plus
