Job Title: Senior File Transfer Engineer (SFG/SI, AWS) Location: Remote
Duration- 8 Months contract

Job Summary:
Client's Enterprise Fall Transfer Team is seeking a Senior Engineer with strong experience in file transfer systems, particularly with IBM Sterling File Gateway (SFG) and Sterling Integrator (SI). This role supports two core platforms: a homegrown cloud-to-cloud file transfer solution and a vendor-based solution using SFG, both integrated within AWS. The ideal candidate will have a blend of operational experience, cloud knowledge, and strong Python development skills to support and enhance these platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and enhance file transfer solutions across two platforms: a homegrown cloud-based system and IBM Sterling File Gateway.
  • Perform ongoing operational tasks including patch upgrades, vulnerability management, and production support.
  • Work within agile teams (approximately 5 engineers per team) in a collaborative environment.
  • Ensure secure file transfers, data encryption (PGP, AWS KMS), and adherence to cloud security protocols.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to AWS services, file transfers, and application performance.
  • Support interviews and knowledge sharing with other team members when necessary.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience (flexible based on depth and relevance of experience) with:
    • IBM Sterling File Gateway (SFG) / Sterling Integrator (SI)
    • AWS Cloud Services
  • Strong understanding of:
    • File transmission protocols
    • Encryption standards (PGP, AWS KMS)
    • Cloud and network security (e.g., firewall groups, encryption at rest/in transit)
  • Operational background including:
    • Production support
    • Vulnerability management
    • Patch and configuration management
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working in a distributed team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AWS certifications (preferred but not required)
  • Experience with EDI and data exchange protocols (preferred, but not a substitute for SFG experience)
  • Background in data integration or file transfer solutions at the enterprise level.
