; Job Summary The Sr. Design Specialist will provide expert mechanical and electro-mechanical design support for complex components, tools, and assemblies across new and existing product lines. Working closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and customers, this role is responsible for developing innovative, manufacturable solutions while ensuring compliance with military and ASME standards. This is a highly technical, onsite-only position based in San Jose, CA, requiring extensive experience with Creo 9 and a deep understanding of CAD and Model-Based Definition (MBD) practices.

; Key Responsibilities Create innovative and practical mechanical and electro-mechanical concepts and detailed CAD designs for complex components and systems.Collaborate with engineering, vendors, and internal teams to define and refine design specifications and ensure manufacturability.Develop and verify CAD models that transition seamlessly into modeling and simulation environments.Prepare detailed 3D models, design layouts, drawings, schematics, and specifications that meet military and ASME standards.Conduct tolerance analysis and apply advanced Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) practices.Participate in or lead design reviews, providing expert-level input on materials, fits, tolerances, finishes, and integration methods.Check completed drawing packages, change documentation, and test procedures for accuracy and compliance.Coordinate closely with systems engineering to ensure design integrity and contractual alignment.Lead or support the use of Model-Based Definition (MBD) in engineering deliverables.Evaluate producibility of designs and validate that CAD solutions meet cost, functionality, and operational requirements.

; Required Qualifications Minimum of 9 years of drafting and design experience using Pro-E/Creo CAD system (Creo 9 experience required).Proficient in 3D modeling, GD&T, and tolerance analysis.Extensive experience preparing drawings to military and ASME standards.Strong knowledge of MILSPEC/STD requirements, manufacturing processes, and production methods.Familiarity with human factors, integration, and system-level product design.Strong communication and documentation skills; attention to detail in all phases of the design process.

; Preferred Qualifications (if any) MBD (Model-Based Definition) experience is a major plus.Strong preference for candidates with Client Combat Vehicle experience.Experience with defense or military system design environments.
; Certifications (if any) None required; certifications in GD&T or Creo are beneficial.
; Education Requirements Associate degree in Engineering Drafting/Design or equivalent technical training and experience.Minimum of 9 years total design/drafting experience, with at least 5 years in advanced design work.
