Join the Mission Systems Advanced Data Links (ADL) Systems Department and help shape, define, and design communications solutions that connect militaries around the world! As part of the ADL Systems department, you will lead teams in the design and development of radio products covering all spectrum bands. You will interface with multi-discipline engineering teams to create total system solutions, addressing both customer needs.
We are looking for a systems engineering manager interested in experiencing all elements of the design process including system-level trades, requirements development, system architecture and design, performance assessment, integration and test, verification, validation, and support of fielded products.
The candidate must have a demonstrated understanding of the systems engineering development process, previous experience leading projects or teams, and experience in communication products. Key responsibilities include: managing and coaching of intermediate to experienced professionals, cost account management, cross-team coordination, and program execution leadership.

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

What You Will Do:
- Manage a team of engineering professionals and cooperatively determine objectives and approaches to completing work. This responsibility requires surface knowledge of systems engineering and project engineering to be successful.
- Sets objectives and guides team on execution/approach for achievement of result.
- Understands and explains policies, practices, and procedures and may influence others. Also responsible for making moderate to significant improvements of processes, systems or products to enhance performance of work area.
- Execute short-term (less than 1 year) operational plans or projects that have measurable contribution towards the achievement of results. Projects can be people or technically focused.
- Process, technical, or team problem solving. Problems and issues faced are general and may require understanding of broader set of issues. Problems may be difficult and involve consideration of a few sites, geographies, products or customers. Problems are typically solved through drawing from prior experience and analysis of issues.
- Communicate with parties within and outside of own discipline and team.
- Provide primary input to hiring, firing, promotion, performance and rewards decisions for direct reports.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
- 1+ Years of demonstrated experience serving as a liaison between cross-functional teams and internal/external customers.
- 1+ Years of proven leadership of large-scale programs throughout the full development lifecycle, with strong proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g., Waterfall, SAFe Agile) and financial tools such as Earned Value Management (EVM)
- Experience leading others, either in a formal leadership role or through mentoring and coaching responsibilities.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Proven experience leading large programs through the full lifecycle, with strong understanding of program and project management methodologies including Waterfall, SAFe Agile, and Earned Value Management.
- Solid foundation in communications engineering fundamentals such as radio transceiver architectures, functional block designs, performance specifications, and test methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to manage technical risks, drive requirements capture and decomposition, and support system validation and verification processes-especially for Software Defined Radios.
- Successful track record in program pursuits and captures, including concept development, technical writing, and work estimation.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering, executive leadership, program management, business development, and sales teams.
- Familiarity with military concepts of operations and performance standards, with occasional ability to travel domestically and internationally.
