Job Title: DevOps Engineer

Location: Mississauga, Toronto, Montreal (Hybrid 3 days from office)

Contract Duration: 6 months (with possible extension)

Project Overview:

We are looking for a skilled DevOps Engineer to support a critical project focused on refactoring a .NET application currently hosted on SQL Server and virtual machines (VMs). The application will be migrated to PostgreSQL on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). This role is ideal for candidates with strong experience in cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and database migrations, particularly in .NET and SQL to PostgreSQL transitions.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with development and architecture teams to refactor existing .NET applications.

Migrate databases from Microsoft SQL Server to PostgreSQL.

Support and optimize deployment on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).

Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments and testing.

Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve system reliability, scalability, and performance.

Set up infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform or Google Deployment Manager.

Ensure security, compliance, and backup solutions are in place during and after migration.

Participate in daily scrums, sprint planning, and other Agile ceremonies.

Required Skills and Experience:

5+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or related roles.

Proven experience working with .NET applications.

Strong hands-on experience with SQL Server and PostgreSQL.

Prior experience with cloud migration projects, preferably on Google Cloud Platform.

Expertise with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI).

Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.

Experience with IaC (Infrastructure as Code) tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.).

Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, or PowerShell).

Experience with system monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).

Nice to Have:

Google Cloud Platform Certification (e.g., Associate Cloud Engineer or Professional DevOps Engineer).

Experience in hybrid cloud or multi-cloud environments.

Familiarity with Agile/Scrum project management methodologies
