Description
We are looking for a skilled IT Operations Engineer to join our team in Middlesex County, Connecticut. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing IT operations, ensuring smooth functionality of systems, and fostering collaboration across teams. This position requires a strategic thinker who can lead initiatives, implement best practices, and maintain high standards of system performance and reliability.
Responsibilities:
Lead efforts to enhance IT operations by fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.
Manage the escalation process for complex technical issues, ensuring timely resolutions and customer satisfaction.
Plan and execute system maintenance tasks such as software updates, security patches, and performance improvements.
Coordinate with stakeholders to schedule maintenance windows that minimize disruptions to users.
Oversee the replacement and upgrade of endpoint devices, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal downtime.
Maintain accurate records of hardware and software assets through effective asset management systems.
Monitor system performance metrics to diagnose issues and identify opportunities for optimization.
Implement robust configuration management processes to track and control changes in IT infrastructure.
Collaborate with department leaders to develop and refine change management strategies that align with organizational goals.
Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks and implement strategies to uphold security and operational integrity.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT operations management, including service desk functions and database systems.
Proficiency in device management tools, such as Intune, and expertise in change management practices.
Strong understanding of ticketing systems, service desk protocols, and configuration management.
Hands-on experience with automated patch management and backup technologies.
Knowledge of compliance frameworks, such as NIST 800-171, is highly desirable.
Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
Familiarity with Active Directory, Cisco technologies, and computer hardware troubleshooting.
