Role: Sr. Azure Cloud Engineer

Location: Alpharetta, GA/Berkeley heights, NJ

Job Description:

As a Cloud Engineer on the Digital Solutions Technology team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our public cloud infrastructure. You will work closely with cross[1]functional teams to implement best practices, automate operations, and drive continuous improvement in our cloud environments. This is a career for a highly motivated individuals who work well in a collaborative and fast-paced environment

What you will do:

  • Design, implement, and maintain highly available and scalable public cloud infrastructure solutions
  • Automate provisioning of infrastructure, including installation and configuration of third[1]party components, to ensure efficient delivery of stable environments
  • Guide applications being built natively in Azure, or migrating to Azure, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity and interface with networking teams to implement resolutions
  • Stay abreast of new Azure features and other cloud innovations to keep the organization at the cutting edge of technology advancement
  • Implement proactive measures to enhance platform performance and resource utilization Ensure public cloud environments adhere to security best practices and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, PCI-DSS).
  • Perform regular security assessments and implement necessary changes
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including developers, architects, and infrastructure teams and create and maintain technical documentation

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in cloud platform engineering or operations in Azure Proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Terragrunt and Terratest
  • Experience with multiple Azure Services: Azure FW, Front Door, Application Gateways, VM's, VMSS, AKS, Service Bus, Storage Accounts, Cosmos, Azure SQL, App Service, Function Apps, EntraID
  • Proven track record in managing and optimizing containerized platforms
  • Experience with scripting and automation in Python, PowerShell, Bash Strong analytical skills, skilled in diagnosing and resolving cloud platform, hardware, and software issues
  • Understanding of cloud networking and familiarity with multiple database technologies like Cosmos, SQL, Redis
  • Bachelor s degree in computer science, Computer Technology or related field, or equivalent experience required

Experience that would be great to have:

  • Proficiency with multiple scripting languages
  • Containerization expertise would be nice (Docker/Kubernetes).
  • 1-2 years of experience deploying to Kubernetes using tools like Helm, Helmsman
  • Service Mesh experience with Istio Experience with Server maintenance such as creation, security, patching, preferably windows
  • Experience building Load balancing solutions like App gateway and AFD. Implementing policies and serving multi-domains using AFD a plus
  • Familiar with current trends in AI
