Summary
- We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Laboratory Technician to join our team.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for performing experiments following established standard operating procedures, maintaining lab equipment and supplies, and ensuring safety in our wet lab facilities.
- This role plays a critical part in supporting the smooth operation of our laboratory and contributing to the success of our research and development activities.
Responsibilities
- Executing established standard operating procedures (SOPs), which includes cleaning laboratory glassware using appropriate techniques, preparing, and processing organic solutions, and handling electrical and mechanical components in our system.
- Accurately document all laboratory experiments, including objectives, methods, results, and observations. Ensure traceability and reproducibility of experiments.
- Organize and maintain laboratory parts, supplies, and equipment. Conduct regular inventory checks and reorder supplies, as necessary.
- Prepare reports or summaries of experimental findings as needed for internal review and collaboration. Communicate effectively regarding laboratory needs, issues, or changes.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory safety and regulatory requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g., chemistry, biology, biochemistry, engineering) or equivalent with 5+ years of related experience.
- Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques involving organic chemicals and solvents, and additional training will be provided.
- Organizational skills and ability to manage inventory.
- Ability to follow safety guidelines for handling hazardous chemicals, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and operation of lab safety equipment like fume hoods.
- Good documentation, communication, and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in organic chemistry, optics, and crystallization.
- Experience in slicing and polishing brittle samples such as glass and ceramics.
