Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Network Administrator with strong expertise in InfiniBand technology and data center networking. In this role, you will design, configure, and maintain high-performance network infrastructure to ensure seamless data flow and exceptional performance.

You will work with IT teams, vendors, and system administrators to support critical data center operations, monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement security best practices. This position is ideal for a professional passionate about optimizing large-scale networks, staying current with emerging technologies, and contributing to innovative, high-impact solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and maintain InfiniBand networks in data center environments.

  • Configure and optimize switches, routers, and other network infrastructure components.

  • Monitor performance, diagnose issues, and resolve bottlenecks to ensure peak efficiency.

  • Implement and enforce network security protocols and compliance standards.

  • Collaborate with system administrators and IT teams to deliver integrated solutions.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, changes, and incidents.

  • Plan and execute hardware and software upgrades to maintain network reliability.

  • Engage with vendors for equipment evaluation, procurement, and issue resolution.

  • Research and propose innovative networking solutions based on industry trends.

Required Experience/Skills

  • Proven experience as a Network Administrator in data center environments.

  • Extensive hands-on expertise with InfiniBand technology (design, deployment, optimization).

  • Strong knowledge of routing and switching protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, VLANs).

  • Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Understanding of network security best practices.

  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or InfiniBand certifications.

  • Experience collaborating with hardware vendors and technical support teams.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

Pay & Benefits Summary

  • Pay Rate: $45 - $50/hour

  • Employment Type: W2 Contract

  • 40 hours per week

  • Initial 12-month contract, with potential extension

  • Benefits eligibility may apply depending on employment terms with our agency
