Responsibilities
- Administer, monitor, and maintain LAN, WAN, and wireless networks to ensure consistent connectivity and performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, escalating complex problems to senior administrators as needed.
- Install, configure, and support network hardware and software, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Manage network services such as DNS, DHCP, and VPN under established policies and procedures.
- Monitor network health using standard tools and respond to alerts, outages, or performance issues.
- Assist with network security measures, including implementing firewall rules, monitoring for unauthorized access, and supporting vulnerability remediation efforts.
- Participate in the rollout of network upgrades, changes, and projects, following established documentation and change management processes.
- Document network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting steps for reference and compliance.
- Support user connectivity, including wired and wireless access, and resolve related issues.
- Collaborate with IT team members to ensure effective integration of network, server, and application services.
- Assist with inventory management of network equipment and related assets.
- Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity testing as directed.
- Stay current on networking trends, best practices, and relevant technologies.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in network administration or support.
- Working knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, etc.).
- Familiarity with network hardware (switches, routers, firewalls) and monitoring tools.
- Basic understanding of network security principles and best practices.
- Good analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- SECRET Clearance
- Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or equivalent preferred or in progress.
