Job Description

Citizens Financial Group, Inc. (CFG) seeks a Senior Data Engineer for its Johnston, RI location.

Duties: Develops and maintains enterprise data warehouse systems using ETL tools to conform to the Regulatory Program Standards. Implements and integrates technical solutions to support the collection of data and the quantification of risk. Participates in mapping sessions to understand business requirements, sources to target relationships, and conducts complex transformations involved in processing data from source to target. Interprets logical and physical data models to business users to determine data definitions. Participates and executes components of the creation, planning, test files, and scripts for data warehouse, or data mart testing, ranging from unit to integration and UAT testing. Creates supporting documentation, such as diagrams of business processes, process flow and micro designs. Customizes and utilizes Data Stage, Talend, and open source ETL technologies to enable development of models and methodologies to derive minimum regulatory capital requirements and support the calculation of economic capital and reporting of regulatory capital in compliance with Regulatory programs.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field, followed by five (5) years of progressive experience in the role or in a related position. Full term of experience must include: Creating complex ETL data pipelines in Talend, Datastage, Informatica for major business requirements for Complex flat files, Datasets, Bigdata files, Parquet, XML, Databases (source and target); Building ETL and ELT processes from different Data Source databases like AWS Athena, Redshift spectrum, Oracle, flat files, CSV files, AWS S3 bucket and XML files and loaded into target warehouse Snowflake, AWS Redshift database using Talend; Creating joblets in Talend for the processes, which can be used in most of the jobs as part of reusable components; Utilizing IBM DataStage, Talend, Dbeaver , TOAD, and Aqua Data Studio to build data processes (ETL), data profiling and data analytics; Utilizing Python programming, Unix/Linux SHELL, PERL scripting for building data controls; Developing data pipelines in Talend for extracting and transforming data and loading on Snowflake data warehouse; Developing ETL process using AWS Glue, AWS Athena, Aws Lambda on AWS S3, EMR (elastic map reducing), and AWS EC2 Instances for enterprise data warehouse on AWS Redshift database; Building data pipelines using Apache Spark for batch and real-time processing; Creating Autosys JIL's scripts and Autosys box for scheduling ETL jobs to ensure proper dependencies among various processes; Implementing Kafka for real-time data streaming and event-driven data solutions; Designing and implementing ETL processes in Java and optimizing data transformations and integrations using Java frameworks; and Developing dashboards and reports in Tableau for various business requirements.
