Job Summary: We are looking for a results-driven Technical Product Owner (TPO) with strong healthcare domain expertise and a hands-on technical background to lead the development of Preferred Drug List (PDL) solutions. This role demands a proactive leader who can translate business needs into scalable, compliant, and data-driven products, owning the vision, execution, and delivery end-to-end.
Experience:
6+ years as a Product Owner or Technical Product Owner in healthcare or pharmacy domains.
4+ years of experience with PDL or Pharmacy Benefits Management (PBM).
Roles & Responsibilities:
Own and drive the full product lifecycle for PDL solutions from strategy and design to delivery and optimization.
Define and communicate a clear product roadmap aligned with business goals and regulatory requirements.
Translate business needs into detailed technical requirements and user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
Lead backlog prioritization and sprint planning to ensure timely delivery of high-impact features.
Collaborate with engineering, data, and clinical teams to deliver scalable, cloud-native solutions.
Guide development teams with technical insights, ensuring architectural integrity and performance.
Analyze drug utilization and formulary data using SQL and reporting tools to inform product decisions.
Ensure compliance with federal/state regulations and internal quality standards.
Champion rigorous testing, validation, and continuous improvement practices.
Act as the PDL subject matter expert and trusted advisor to stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Pharmacy, or related field.
6+ years as a Product Owner or Technical Product Owner in healthcare or pharmacy domains.
Technical Product Owner Preferred Drug List (PDL)
4+ years of experience with PDL, Formulary, and Pharmacy Benefits Management (PBM).
Prior hands-on programming experience, especially in cloud-based platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
Strong SQL skills and experience working with large healthcare datasets.
Familiarity with formulary management systems and drug classification standards (e.g., NDC, RxNorm).
Deep understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe) and experience leading Agile teams.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with API integration, data pipelines, and cloud-native architectures.
Knowledge of healthcare compliance frameworks (e.g., HIPAA).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset.
Work Environment:
Remote position.
Occasional evening/weekend work may be required for critical releases or stakeholder meetings.
