Apex Systems is seeking a Lead Consultant - AI Governance to join our US & Canada Solutions Delivery practice. This role is ideal for a highly skilled professional with hands-on experience delivering AI governance, model risk management, and responsible AI solutions in regulated environments. As a Lead Consultant, you will play a key role in executing client engagements, guiding delivery teams, and contributing subject matter expertise to help clients implement robust, scalable AI oversight practices.
You will collaborate with engagement managers, solution architects, and technical teams to deliver impactful AI governance frameworks and regulatory compliance solutions for enterprise clients, particularly in the financial services and healthcare sectors.

Apex Systems is seeking a Lead Consultant - AI Governance to join our US & Canada Solutions Delivery practice. RESPONSIBLITIES
- Deliver client-facing consulting engagements focused on AI governance, model lifecycle oversight, and regulatory compliance (e.g., EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, SR 11-7).
- Advise business, compliance, and AI/ML stakeholders on translating regulatory requirements into actionable policies, procedures, and control mechanisms.
- Lead the implementation of AI risk frameworks, including model documentation standards, model registries, bias and fairness testing, and audit-readiness documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including MLOps engineers and data scientists, to integrate governance into AI/ML development workflows.
- Contribute to proposal development, scope definition, and client workshops in support of AI risk strategy and oversight.
- Mentor junior consultants and contribute to knowledge-sharing and capability-building efforts across Apex's AI Governance and Responsible AI communities.
- Support change management and training efforts to embed responsible AI practices into enterprise operations and culture.
- Manage and oversee projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget and quality standards.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Demonstrate strong technical knowledge and implementation skills. Stay current on relevant technology trends and practices. Build trust and respect among internal and external stakeholders and demonstrate collaborative teamwork.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
- 7+ years of professional experience in consulting, risk management, or AI/ML domains, with 2+ years directly focused on AI governance or model risk oversight.
- Familiarity with key AI governance frameworks and regulations, including the EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, and SR 11-7.
- Experience in regulated industries such as financial services, healthcare, or insurance.
- Practical knowledge of model lifecycle governance, including model documentation, approval workflows, monitoring, and compliance reviews.
- Understanding of MLOps tooling and responsible AI platforms such as MLflow, Azure ML, or similar.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated experience translating policy into process, and aligning governance efforts with business and risk objectives.
- Experience working in client-facing delivery roles within consulting or professional services preferred.
