Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base pay.

What will you be doing?
We are seeking an experienced Consulting Systems Engineer (CSE) to provide pre-sales technical expertise and mission-driven solutions to support our DoD Europe team account activities. This role requires a deep understanding of DoD architecture. The ideal candidate will serve as a trusted advisor, working in tandem as a high-performance team with an Account Manager, lead engineer, and Inside Sales Representatives, to build consultative relationships as the technical liaison with a focus on expanding WWT's footprint of services and shaping IT solutions that align with the modernization of DoD networks. This is a remote position, but the position requires proximity to Stuttgart, GE. Up to 35% travel is required.
Responsibilities:
- 4+ years of technical sales or consultation experience in a relevant industry.
- 8+ years of experience in network/systems/security/data design, architecture, and engineering supporting DoD environments.
- Security Clearance: Minimum Active Secret clearance.
- Expertise in advanced networking principles, network design, and large-scale enterprise architectures.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco, Broadcom, NetApp, Palo Alto Networks (PAN), Gigamon, Red Hat, Broadcom, Zscaler, F5, Microsoft, Nvidia, NetApp, Dell, Juniper, Keysight (Ixia)Riverbed, or other enterprise solution providers.
- Understanding of Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) and its role in secure DoD networking.
- Experience in data center networking, hybrid cloud solutions, virtualization, automation, network segmentation, AI, and network security architectures.
- Expertise in Zero Trust, SASE, and SD-WAN.
- Strong ability to engage with senior stakeholders, translate requirements, and deliver tailored network architectures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience, or 10+ years of relevant experience without a degree.
- Certifications: CCDP, CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Security, JNCIP-ENT, VCP or equivalent

Responsibilities:
- Act as a pre-sales technical consultant and liaison to key DoD stakeholders. Leverage those consultative skills to create new opportunities and gain new customers within the account space.
- Build and maintain account level relationships with customers, OEMs, and System Integrator (SI) peers. Sustain a close effective partnership with the sales business partner (Account Manager) for business strategy, relationships, customer engagement, partnering, training, and response to business solicitations.
- Oversee the presales process and help drive effective communication between Sales and Professional Services. Support interactions, planning, and execution with internal WWT services teams, the Advanced Technology Center (ATC) and the North American Integration Center (NAIC).
- Lead end-to-end IT architecture discussions, including WAN/BAN, campus and data center networking, cloud interconnectivity, data strategy, AI, automation, and Zero Trust networking.
- Design and optimize high-performance, mission-critical networks integrating technologies from Cisco, Palo Alto Networks, Broadcom, Thales, Red Hat, NetApp, Dell, Nvidia, Splunk, Microsoft, Gigamon, Keysight (Ixia), F5, Riverbed, and related.
- Architect secure and scalable solutions leveraging SASE, SD-WAN, network segmentation, and hybrid cloud connectivity.
- Develop and implement edge routing architectures, including PACE routing strategies, to enhance survivability, segmentation, and traffic optimization in forward-deployed environments.
- Evaluate and enhance DoD-wide transport and peering architectures to improve enterprise network performance, leveraging technologies such as MPLS, optical transport, and high-speed encryption solutions.
- Collaborate with internal teams and customers to define requirements, develop solution roadmaps, and drive technical engagements.
- Support proposal development, white papers, and customer briefings focused on DoD technology, data, and cybersecurity missions. Drive network modernization initiatives aligned with US DoD in Europe focus on secure digital transformation. Ensure solutions adhere to DoD cybersecurity standards, including CSfC, Zero Trust, RMF, STIGs, and network automation best practices.
- CSE's must have excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation, and technical skills required to conduct technical workshops, actively participate in customer briefings, and provide hands-on solution demonstrations.
- Assume lead technical ownership of all account opportunities, to include acting a liaison to the customer and to any internal WWT or partner resources used to fill knowledge gaps.
- Assemble Build of Materials / create quotes with a high level of accuracy.
- Stay ahead of emerging networking technologies and DoD directives to ensure mission success.
