Job Description:
Job Title: Engineering Specialist II
Contract: 2-years long with a chance to extend
Location: Bothell, WA hybrid schedule 2-3 days on-site
Under direct supervision of more experienced staff, prepares solutions to a wide range of technical problems through the application of standard engineering practices and principles. Prepares engineering plans, designs, specifications, standards, cost estimates, evaluations, or studies and may assist in the preparation of higher complexity work of the same nature. Duties may include data and records management, research, project support, and working directly with customers. Works on projects with clear criteria needing little interpretation. Upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in the companies operating and/or field procedures related to work responsibilities. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety. This position may be subject to random DOT drug and/or alcohol testing.

this is the public improvement team out of Bothell and focused on larger civil work - public improvement is all larger scale Public Improvement projects for the cities and covers both gas and electric work

Responsibilities:
- Performs various engineering tasks using applications and tools specific to job assignment and discipline. Examples may include:
- Assists in the preparation of engineering plans, designs, specifications and standards.
- Assists in the preparation of engineering studies to support specific program objectives.
- Documents research for system compliance requirements.
- Assists in the preparation of project cost estimates.
- Creates and updates job work orders and project documentation, including tasks and
- calculations.
- Conducts office and field research, measurement and verification of equipment data, and creates and updates equipment records.
- Reviews engineering and records documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Performs data and records management.
- Ensures compliance with codes, standards, and design requirements.
- Assists others in making updates to department standards, processes, and tools.
- Supports emergency response work as requested including immediate and extended restoration efforts driven by weather and other system failures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications:
- High School graduate with technical field experience or drafting certificate or equivalent experience.
- Effective communication and organizational skills.
- Has 3+ years of professional drafting experience in AutoCAD
- Proficient with PC software
Desired qualifications:
