Job Details

We are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Technical Lead to work On-Site with our Austin, Texas client on a strategic initiative to consolidate IT resources currently embedded across various departments into a unified IT division. This effort aims to strengthen IT governance, improve user access and security, and enhance visibility and operational reporting across the enterprise. The project includes evaluating current IT roles and reporting structures, conducting position classification reviews, aligning personnel with an optimized organizational model, and inventorying IT systems and projects to support business prioritization and alignment with enterprise objectives.

You must have a strong background in IT organizational assessment and infrastructure integration to lead the evaluation and unification of decentralized infrastructure environments. You will play a critical role in designing and executing a roadmap to consolidate systems, networks, and technical support operations under a centralized IT model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate current infrastructure roles, responsibilities, and support models across distributed IT teams.
  • Identify opportunities for realignment of IT personnel, resources, and functions to support a centralized delivery model.
  • Develop strategies for optimizing the use of technical staff, infrastructure resources, and support operations.
  • Provide guidance on aligning infrastructure roles with future-state architecture and enterprise standards.
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to assess capacity, skillsets, and organizational constraints.
  • Identify workforce, security, and operational gaps and recommend actionable plans for role and resource optimization.
  • Create documentation, staffing models, and transition roadmaps to guide realignment and onboarding efforts.
  • Coordinate with change management and communications teams to facilitate role transitions and promote organizational adoption.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in infrastructure strategy and technical leadership roles.
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure components (servers, networks, storage, cloud, etc.).
  • Experience leading infrastructure assessments and consolidation projects, preferably in the public sector.
  • Familiarity with IT service management frameworks and governance models.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and executive stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in large-scale organizational change and centralization initiatives.
  • Prior work with public-sector clients or state agencies.
  • Understanding of classification analysis and resource realignment processes.
  • Expertise in security, identity management, and enterprise architecture frameworks.
