Lead Product Support Engineer (ICA)

Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking a Product Support Engineer (ICA Technical Lead) to lead a team of coordinators in the development and review process supporting Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA). The selected candidate will oversee the assembly of all impacted ICA documents into a project-specific package and draft the ICA Summary. This role involves reviewing the Summary for compliance with format requirements, as well as examining the Certification Plan, ICA tool description, and referenced files against the ICA checklist to ensure that proper documentation has been provided for the changes described. The engineer will address any remaining limitation questions and make determinations regarding whether the submission is Delegated or Retained based on the ICA limitations answers and CPN response, while also confirming that Quality has been accepted. Additionally, the Lead Product Support Engineer will oversee the notification to the AED or ICA Verifier that the ICA documents are ready for review or available. Collaboration with ICA manual authoring teams is essential to integrate all documents containing ICA data into a comprehensive ICA package for FAA/ODA acceptance.

Position Responsibilities
  • Applies engineering technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques to support product support engineering and analysis to ensure supportability, sustainability, reliability, maintainability and operability of products and services throughout its lifecycle.
  • Develops product definition, design and configuration. Defines, evaluates and maintains engineering supportability, operability and maintainability requirements for products, systems and programs.
  • Analyzes data to produce support, flight operation and maintenance equipment requirements. Evaluates engineering changes based on customer requirements and proposes program changes and manages implementation of changes.
  • Plans, researches, develops, analyzes, and designs modification and repair solutions that comply with customer, regulatory, Safety and company requirements.
  • Establishes planning and design criteria to develop integrated support and maintenance infrastructure.
  • Supports continued airworthiness.
  • Provides engineering and on-site technical assistance to customer's products including, ground support equipment, training devices, training facilities, operations facilities and maintenance facilities. Coordinates and supports proposal development areas.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • Experience with commercial airplane modification certifications
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Experience building relationships and partnering with customers and all levels of employees, including executives
  • Experience communicating, collaborating, and building consensus with internal and external stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 5+ years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years' experience with 14 CFR 25.1309 Airworthiness Standards, Appendix H to Part 25 - Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA) and document details
  • Familiarity with Boeing Procedures Manual 15.4.14.3 supporting ICA
  • Experience gathering, preparing, and analyzing engineering or technical data or equivalent for the development of ICA support products
  • Familiar with standards and formats, including data items and definitions or equivalent for Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Instructions for Continued Airworthiness Data Repository (FIDR)
  • Proficient with command media and compliance process including Deliverables for FAA and interaction with process roles for ICA
