Job Description

Torch Technologies is seeking a mid-level Electrical/Hardware Design Engineer to support the Integration team within Long Range Standoff (LRSO) System Program Office (SPO).

The U.S. Air Force is developing a new Long-Range Stand-Off (LRSO) nuclear missile. In May 2021, the Air Force awarded an Engineering and Manufacturing Design (EMD) contract to Raytheon Missiles and Defense, Tucson, Arizona. The Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) Nuclear Weapons Acquisition Division (AFNWC/NDB), which is resident at Eglin AFB, Florida, is the System Program Office (SPO) responsible for the acquisition.

This position requires a highly motivated individual with electrical engineering experience. This role includes the following responsibilities:
  • Evaluate contractor proposals for executable plans for major refurbishment and conversion of B-52 pylons and rotary launchers in support of new missile program.
  • Manage and technically evaluate changes design and production documentation.
  • Analyze and inspect wiring and electrical components.
  • Review and provide recommended changes to drawing packages.
  • Review and evaluate electrically-oriented program and production process documentation and quality standards.
  • Evaluate production Validation and Verification and test plans.
  • Recommend suitable substitutions for obsolete parts and evaluate deviations and variations to approved documentation.

Job Requirements

Must possess a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or an equivalent discipline.
  • Must have at least 3 years in electrical engineering experience or equivalent.
  • Must have an active SECRET DoD security clearance.
  • Must be eligible for a TOP SECRET clearance.

Additional Notes

This position requires candidates to possess a current SECRET security clearance in order to access classified information. Inability to maintain a SECRET security clearance will result in a candidate being ineligible for this position.

This position is located at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida.
