Location: Plano, TX (Onsite)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Performance Test Engineer with strong expertise in Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance applications. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience in performance testing, strategy creation, results interpretation, and the ability to present performance findings to senior client stakeholders. This role also requires mentoring existing QE teams, setting up best practices, and driving performance engineering initiatives across Talon applications.



Key Responsibilities

1. Performance Testing & Engineering

  • Lead end-to-end performance testing for P&C insurance applications, ensuring scalability, stability, and reliability.

  • Develop and execute performance test scripts using JMeter, Taurus, and Lighthouse.

  • Analyze system performance, identify bottlenecks, and recommend optimization strategies.

  • Drive continuous performance monitoring, tuning, and improvements.


2. Test Strategy & Planning

  • Build comprehensive performance testing strategies tailored to Talon applications.

  • Identify workload models, test scenarios, KPIs, SLAs, and success metrics.

  • Design performance test frameworks and ensure standardization across application teams.


3. Stakeholder Communication & Reporting

  • Present performance results, insights, and recommendations to P&C customer executives.

  • Prepare high-quality performance dashboards, reports, and trend analysis documents.

  • Collaborate with architects, developers, and product teams to ensure alignment and remediation actions.


4. QE Team Enablement & Mentoring

  • Groom, mentor, and upskill existing QE/QA teams on performance testing tools and industry best practices.

  • Conduct workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions on JMeter, Taurus, Lighthouse, and performance engineering concepts.

  • Promote performance-first mindset across development teams.


5. Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with DevOps, Development, Architecture, and Product teams to drive performance requirements early in the SDLC.

  • Support integration of performance testing into CI/CD pipelines where needed.




Required Skills & Experience

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in performance testing, preferably within P&C insurance domain.

  • Strong expertise in JMeter, Taurus, Lighthouse, and other performance testing frameworks.

  • Proven ability to build and execute performance testing strategies for enterprise-grade applications.

  • Solid experience in analyzing performance metrics (CPU, memory, throughput, response time, etc.).

  • Strong understanding of P&C workflows, policy lifecycle, claims, underwriting, billing, etc.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present results to executive-level stakeholders.

  • Experience mentoring or leading QE teams on performance testing tools.

  • Familiarity with performance engineering, tuning, and root cause analysis techniques.




Nice to Have

  • Experience with Talon P&C applications.

  • Background in DevOps and CI/CD pipeline integration for performance tests.

  • Knowledge of cloud performance testing (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
