Job Title: Lab Manager/ Help Desk - POS Systems

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Lab Manager (Help Desk) to support a Seattle-based client in managing and maintaining their POS (Point of Sale) technology lab. This is a hands-on, onsite role based in Seattle, WA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in POS systems, networking, imaging, and lab operations across both Linux and Windows environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain the POS technology lab environment.
Test and validate new coffeehouse software releases and patches.
Evaluate proof-of-concept retail technologies, such as NGPOS running on Linux OS.
Analyze and replicate technology issues reported from stores.
Support mobile device testing, with a focus on Wi-Fi and SML (Store Management Layer) dependencies.
Provide a controlled environment for training technical support teams.
Maintain system integration and support end-to-end (E2E) testing workflows.
Create and update top-view lab layouts to identify test store setups, users, and configurations.
Implement and maintain an Asset and Inventory Management system:
Ensure accurate tracking and visibility of all lab hardware assets.
Monitor usage and flag inactive or available test setups.
Enable lab scheduling and status tracking.
Required Skills & Experience:
Strong experience with POS systems (installation, maintenance, troubleshooting).
Hands-on expertise in networking, including Wi-Fi configuration, basic troubleshooting, and network device setup.
Proficiency in both Linux and Windows operating systems.
Experience with imaging tools (MDT, Ghost, Clonezilla, or similar).
Familiarity with hardware/software testing methodologies, including E2E and regression testing.
Experience with mobile device testing.
Strong documentation skills, including lab layout mapping and inventory tracking.
Experience with asset management or inventory tools (ServiceNow, Jira, CMDB, etc.).
Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Background in retail or hospitality technology environments.
Experience with NGPOS or similar Linux-based POS platforms.
Exposure to test lab operations and environment simulation.
