As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Global Bank Technology team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Drive significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions, and apply deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to tackle a diverse array of challenges that span multiple technologies and applications.

Test Engineers in JPMorgan Chase's Global Banking Technology are not manual testers -- you write scripts to automate testing, create tools so engineers can test their own code and be an evangelist for building the testing practice. As a Test Engineer, you will navigate a broad codebase and large asset catalog of data, events, APIs and services, identify weak spots and constantly design better and creative ways to break software and identify potential problems and help teams ensure the quality of their product. You'll have a wide business impact on the quality of JPMC Global Banking's growing suite of products and services

Job responsibilities
  • Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors
  • Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
  • Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
  • Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
  • Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
  • Adds to the team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
  • Design and execute test cases and test plans to ensure the quality and reliability of Global Banking Application portfolio
  • Design and responsible for adoption of testing strategies, methodologies, and standards.
  • Perform root cause analysis, and work with the appropriate technical teams to develop, test, and implement remedies to prevent escapes.
  • Provide testing status, generate reports, track metrics, and create test closure reports.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Advanced in one or more programming language(s) Java, Python, or .Net
  • Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
  • Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight. Also Ability to guide and coach teams on automated testing approach to achieve goals aligned against a set of strategic initiatives covering modern design patterns, Microservices, and techniques leveraging AI and ML
  • In-depth knowledge of the services industry and their IT systems, along with, practical cloud native experience, such as, AWS, PCP, Azure
  • Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field and expertise in technology disciplines
  • Experience in testing 3 rd party SaaS vendors and integration
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools and processes.
  • Knowledge of performing test activity in an Agile environment. Along with experience with Agile development methodology, processes, and tools.
  • Proficiency developing and deploying automated test suites along with knowledge of continuous integration/continuous deployment methodologies.
