Job Description

You will be an Industrial Engineer for the Missiles and Fire Control production team in Troy, Alabama. Our team is responsible for leading Industrial Engineering activities that analyze and improve processes, reduce costs, and drive decisions now and in the future.

What You Will Be Doing
As an Industrial Engineer, you will collaborate with a cross-functional team to identify and implement process improvements in a production area. You will play a key role in driving decisions that impact our business now and in the future.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing process observations and time studies to support cost analysis and improvement activities
- Using metrics, data tools, and visualization to analyze and identify cost, quality, and schedule drivers
- Planning and implementing facility layouts and workstation improvements
- Applying Lean Six Sigma tools and leading continuous improvement projects
- Utilizing discrete event simulation (such as Simio, FlexSim, ProSim, Arena, etc.) and capacity tools to evaluate current and future business needs
- Collaborating with production, engineering, and management to drive initiatives

The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance. A company-sponsored interim secret is required to start.

The Locale: Troy, Alabama is in the East Gulf Coastal Plains region of southeastern Alabama. Troy's climate is typical of areas along the Gulf of Mexico in that it has hot, humid summers and mild winters. Troy is a great place to live offering lots of things to do and has a small-town charm. Troy is also a college town and is home to Troy University. Where can you get to from Troy? Troy is just under an hour south of Montgomery, Alabama. Troy is about 2.5 hours north of the Gulf of Mexico and Fort Walton Beach and Florida's Pan Handle. Troy is about three hours from Atlanta, GA.

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field
- Knowledge and understanding of Industrial Engineering or Lean Six Sigma concepts
- Experience working in a team-based environment, with a strong focus on collaboration and continuous improvement
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite tools, particularly Excel
Lockheed Martin will assist selected candidate with obtaining at least an Interim Secret Clearance prior to starting. Additionally, the candidate must be able to pass a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives ("ATF") background check to obtain approval to be an "employee possessor" (of explosives or other ATF-regulated items) as defined by ATF regulations. Failure to obtain and retain employee possessor status may result in revocation of an offer and loss of employment.

Desired skills

- Experience in Industrial Engineering, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment
- Experience with Discrete Event Simulation (Simio, Arena, FlexSim, ProSim)
- Data Analytics/Tableau/SQL/Python experience
- Experience with SAP ERP system
- Experience using computer-aided design (CAD)
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $63,800 - $112,470. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.

Premium Pay Statement
