Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of Oracle database systems, ensuring high levels of data availability and security. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong troubleshooting skills, and experience with Oracle enterprise features in complex environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Oracle databases (versions 11g, 12c, 19c).
- Design and implement database architectures for high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery.
- Manage Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN, OEM Cloud Control, and GoldenGate.
- Perform backup and recovery using RMAN and/or third-party tools.
- Optimize database performance through tuning of SQL queries, indexing strategies, and database configuration.
- Monitor database health and perform proactive maintenance tasks.
- Automate tasks using PL/SQL, Shell scripting, or Python.
- Implement and maintain security best practices for Oracle databases.
- Plan and execute database migrations, upgrades, and patches.
- Support production, development, and test environments.
- Work with development teams to design efficient database schemas and troubleshoot performance issues.
- Conduct capacity planning and forecasting.
- Ensure compliance with data governance and regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX, HIPAA, GDPR).
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 10+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA.
- Strong expertise in Oracle 11g/12c/19c database administration.
- Experience with Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and Oracle GoldenGate.
- In-depth knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, and performance tuning techniques.
- Experience with RMAN, OEM, and database backup/recovery strategies.
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments and Shell scripting.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, AWS RDS for Oracle, Azure).
- Knowledge of database security, auditing, and compliance.
- Experience in automation and infrastructure as code (Ansible, Terraform a plus).
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle Certified Master (OCM).
- Exposure to other database platforms (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server).
- Experience with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
