Title: Datapower Developer

Location: Remote/San Jose, CA/Austin, TX

Position Type: Contract

Job Summary: The DataPower professional will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining solutions using IBM DataPower Gateway to meet the organization's integration and security needs. This role involves configuring DataPower appliances, developing and deploying services, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the overall reliability and performance of the DataPower infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Configure and administer IBM DataPower Gateway appliances to support various integration and security requirements.
  2. Develop and deploy DataPower services for handling XML, JSON, SOAP, and other message formats.
  3. Implement and maintain security policies, including SSL/TLS configurations, access control, and threat protection mechanisms.
  4. Collaborate with other teams to integrate DataPower with backend systems, applications, and services.
  5. Monitor the performance and health of DataPower appliances, diagnosing and resolving issues as they arise.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Experience working with IBM DataPower Gateway appliances in a production environment.
  • Strong understanding of web services, APIs, and messaging protocols (HTTP, HTTPS, SOAP, REST, etc.).
  • Proficiency in XML, XSLT, XPath, JSON, and other data transformation technologies.
  • Knowledge of security concepts and protocols, including encryption, authentication, and authorization.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) and automation tools for managing DataPower configurations.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
