BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated UX/UI Designer in Austin, TX


Position Title: UX/UI Designer with strong data visualization skills

Location: Austin, TX


Anticipated Start Date: 10/14/2025

Expected Duration: 4+ Months with higher possibilities for extension


Job Type: Contract: 40 hrs/week


Job Description:


We are seeking a talented UX/UI Designer with strong data visualization expertise to join our team. In this role, you will design intuitive, user-centered interfaces and transform complex datasets into clear, engaging, and actionable visual experiences. You'll collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure our solutions are both visually compelling and highly usable.


Key Responsibilities



  • Design and deliver user-centered interfaces for web and mobile applications.

  • Develop data visualization solutions (dashboards, charts, reports) that simplify complex information.

  • Create wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and user flows to communicate design concepts.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into design solutions.

  • Conduct usability testing and user research to validate design decisions.

  • Ensure designs adhere to accessibility and responsive design standards.

  • Partner with engineers to ensure seamless implementation of designs.

  • Contribute to design systems, style guides, and UI pattern libraries.


Required Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science, or related field-or equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years of professional experience in UX/UI design.

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating experience in designing interfaces and data visualizations.

  • Proficiency with design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, InVision).

  • Experience with data visualization tools/libraries (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, D3.js, Chart.js, High charts).

  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Strong product background vs. marketing background


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience working in Agile or cross-functional product teams.

  • Knowledge of front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to facilitate collaboration with engineers.

  • Familiarity with accessibility guidelines (WCAG) and inclusive design practices.

  • Experience with design systems and scalable UI frameworks.

  • Background in designing for analytics platforms or enterprise applications.
