Manager Engineering - Strategic Portfolio

Are you ready to lead exciting water management projects? As the Manager of Engineering / Strategic Portfolio, you will oversee capital projects from start to finish. You will collaborate with a variety of teams, including operations, geotechnical and water planning, maintenance, permitting, EHS, site leadership, procurement, finance, and project controls. You will also work with third-party consultants, engineering firms, and contractors to ensure everything runs smoothly. Your goal? To make sure projects are planned, engineered, and executed safely and on time.
What you will do:
  • Lead the Project Planning and Engineering group assigned to develop labor, equipment and material estimates and construction sequence to facilitate development of project schedules and budgets
  • Provide input based on experience to management to ensure front end planning is sound and that realistic expectations for construction timelines are being set
  • Collaborate on planning of projects and coordinate efforts and resources with relevant departments
  • Manage capital spend / budget in conjunction with site leadership teams
  • Lead capital budgeting process for the water portfolio of projects, oversee project forecasting, accruals and deferral processes for the water portfolio and coach project engineers on cost management
  • Enforce use of Capital Process Management Process
  • Collaborate on creating future year forecasts and execute front end engineering and scoping to create an accurate forecast
  • Coach and develop team members to become effective project engineers and coordinators
  • Enforce safety culture and lead safety initiatives and participate/ lead safety observation reporting process and interpretation for water portfolio
What you will need:
  • Bachelors Degree required with an engineering discipline such as: Mechanical, Chemical, Civil or Electrical.
  • 10+ years of engineering, project management, or construction management experience
  • Experience with leading technical / project teams
  • Proficiency with standard office related software including: Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project along with other standard office related software
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication (written and verbal), organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and on a team
