Overview:

Security Analysts are responsible for analyzing system and application security and making recommendations that optimize the protection of computer systems and information resources. This includes developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining security policies and programs, staying current on security best practices, and identifying procedures that support business objectives and regulatory compliance.

Position Summary:

The Unified Threat Detection Team is seeking a Security Analyst 2. This role is ideal for an experienced professional skilled in analyzing, responding to, and triaging security alerts and events. The analyst will determine appropriate mitigation steps, work in a fast-paced environment using a variety of security tools (e.g., WAF, SIEM, UBA, SOAR, AV, firewalls), and contribute to process development and cross-team collaboration on security issues. The Analyst 2 will also provide escalation support for moderately complex issues and follow established procedures to recommend and implement solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and respond to security incidents involving malicious activity, anomalies, malware, APTs, unauthorized access, and data exfiltration.
  • Utilize security tools to investigate and remediate incidents.
  • Coordinate incident response efforts and provide clear, concise updates to leadership.
  • Develop and document new processes to improve team efficiency.
  • Assist in monitoring and enforcing security policies and programs.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners on security-related matters.
  • Maintain strong working relationships across security, IT, and business teams.
  • Lead or participate in meetings and contribute to team initiatives.
  • Support automation and process improvement efforts.

Required Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in a security-related role.
  • Subject matter expertise in multiple areas of security monitoring.
  • Strong knowledge of network protocols, packet analysis, and security controls.
  • Proficient in incident analysis, investigation coordination, and documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead meetings and collaborate across teams.
  • Proven experience developing new processes and automating tasks.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to present findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Solution-oriented mindset with a commitment to integrating security into daily responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Security certifications such as CYSA+, Security+, CEH, GIAC, or vendor-specific tool certifications.
  • Familiarity with scripting, SIEM platforms, ticketing systems, open-source security tools, WAFs, PKI, EDR, and vulnerability scanning.
  • Experience with engineering or project management in a security context.
  • Prior experience working within the Microsoft Security ecosystem.
