Data Engineer ETL, Informatica, SQL, Cloud (Austin Hybrid)

Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid 2 days onsite per week)
Contract: Long-Term (1+ year, with extension potential)

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be local to Austin, TX and able to work onsite two days per week

  • Must be able to work W2 only (no C2C, 1099, or third-party vendors)

  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship or visa transfer


Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer with strong ETL, Informatica (PowerCenter or IICS), SQL, and data integration background to support the development and expansion of a large-scale enterprise data hub. This role focuses on acquiring data from multiple sources, transforming it into dimensional models, building automation workflows, and supporting analytics and reporting needs across the organization.

The Data Engineer will work as part of an Agile development team, contributing to design, data modeling, SQL development, ETL automation, validation, documentation, and ongoing enhancements to the data integration environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support data acquisition from multiple internal and external data sources.

  • Develop complex SQL scripts, stored procedures, and database objects in Oracle or Snowflake.

  • Build and maintain ETL mappings, workflows, and automations using Informatica PowerCenter or IICS.

  • Design and maintain dimensional models, views, and materialized views.

  • Validate SQL scripts, ETL processes, and data transformations for accuracy and performance.

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and daily standups.

  • Collaborate with architects, analysts, and data engineering team members to design optimal data solutions.

  • Produce technical specifications, diagrams, and documentation.

  • Contribute to requirements gathering, design discussions, and solution validations.

  • Identify system enhancements, evaluate impacts, and propose improvements.

  • Assist with configuration of development tools and automation solutions.

  • Troubleshoot data integration issues and support production operations as needed.


Minimum Requirements

  • 8+ years developing ETL mappings and workflows using Informatica PowerCenter or IICS

  • 8+ years integrating data from multiple technologies (Oracle, SQL Server, Excel, Access, PDF, etc.)

  • 8+ years developing complex, high-performance SQL scripts in Oracle and/or Snowflake

  • 8+ years experience as a Systems Analyst supporting data analytics, data warehousing, or performance management systems

  • 8+ years experience creating technical documentation, models, diagrams (Visio, Erwin), and project deliverables

  • 8+ years experience with enterprise software platforms across multiple business units

  • 8+ years experience writing high-quality, efficient, testable code using modern best practices


Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years strong oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift between assignments

  • 4+ years experience working in Agile sprint teams

  • 4+ years understanding of security principles, including healthcare data protections

  • 4+ years experience with BI or performance metrics visualization environments

  • 4+ years experience with Python scripting

  • Experience with:

    • JIRA

    • REST/SOAP Web Services

    • Java / JavaScript

    • C#

    • CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions)

    • Mulesoft development

  • Prior experience working with PII/PHI, healthcare organizations, or state agencies

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (preferred)
