Job Details

Role: Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist
Location: Bay Area, California. 40 hours per week. Hybrid (minimum 3 days per week in office).
Duration: 12+ Months Contract

Rate : $40 - $50/Hr. W2

The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist will provide onsite support across all Bay Area office locations, ensuring safe and compliant operations in alignment with internal safety standards and regulatory requirements. The contractor will play a key role in day-to-day EHS operations, working closely with site teams to build a proactive safety culture.
Scope of Services includes:
Conducting routine EHS audits across offices and technical areas (e.g., labs, garages)
Performing job hazard analyses, risk assessments, and PPE evaluations to identify and mitigate workplace hazards
Supporting incident investigations and root cause analysis for safety incidents
Creating and providing technical EHS guidance to local teams and stakeholders
Partnering with cross-functional teams (CREWS, VOps, ADAS/AD) to implement safety improvements
Assisting with EHS training rollout, documentation, and tracking
Maintaining safety-related records and reports as required
Incident support documentation
Documents of PPE/risk assessment performed
Site inspection reports


Skills Requirements:

Proven 3-5 years of experiences in EHS support (incident response, compliance audit, assessment, etc) in office or R&D environment
Working knowledge of Cal/OSHA, EPA, NFPA, DOT regulations and best practices
Ability to conduct risk assessment, conduct investigation, and recommend corrective/prevention actions
3- 5 years of experience supporting emergency response plans, drills, and business continuity efforts
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage site teams effectively
Ability to travel between Palo Alto, East Palo Alto, Sunnyvale and Mountain View, as needed
