Job Description
DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 3 (Three) years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Full Stack Engineer, Technology Specialist, Java Developer, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 5 (Five) years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Full Stack Engineer, Technology Specialist, Java Developer, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires 3 (three) years of experience with the following: Designing, developing, and implementing software solutions for applications ingesting over 20 billion records per day that support at least 25,000 transactions per second within 50-100 milliseconds using Java, J2EE, Spring and Microservices; Performing data manipulation, data structuring, data design flow and query optimization using programming language including SQL, Shell Scripting and Python; Processing large data sets using data containers, multithreading, and multiprocessing in Apache Spark, Hadoop, and Hive; Processing real-time events using Apache Kafka and Zookeeper; Developing and building robust applications using GIT, Docker, Maven and Jenkins; Performing application monitoring and alerting using Splunk and Dynatrace; Performing Automation, Manual, Functional, Unit, Performance and User Acceptance Testing, Postman validations, and Cucumber to ensure the data quality of applications; Solving business problems through innovation and engineering practices by following Application Architecture and Data Architecture disciplines; Participating in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements and incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications; Developing software using Spring; Platforms including Unix, Linux, Windows, Private Cloud and Public Cloud such as AWS to deploy, maintain and support the applications; NO SQL databases including Cassandra; Relational Databases such as DB2 or Oracle.
