Job Details

Job Title: Mainframe z/OS Systems Programmer(Part Time)

Duration: 11 months

Location: Remote

Key responsibilities:
  • SME-level support for z/OS operating systems, upgrades, releases, and patches.
  • Administer and support ISV products (e.g., BlueZone) and SCLM.
  • Provide administration and support for CICS and IMS subsystems.
  • Perform root cause analysis for platform, software, and product issues.
  • Analyze and tune system performance; support capacity planning activities.
  • Manage system parameters, libraries, and configuration changes.
  • Collaborate with IT teams; provide technical consultation and leadership on projects.
  • Support integration testing of new products with existing applications.
  • Maintain and support Mainframe Production Control and Job Scheduler.
  • Coordinate daily operations within DCS and provide user account/security support.
  • Support mainframe transformation while maintaining legacy systems.
  • Administer Informatica Power Exchange for CDC with IMS/VSAM sources.

Required Qualification:
  • 5+ years of Experience with z/OS Systems Programming
  • 5+ years of Experience with JES2, z/OS Unix System Services (OMVS), Storage Management Subsystem (SMS)
  • 3+ years of Experience with TSS (Top Secret Security)
  • 3+ years of Experience with performance monitoring to include initial analysis of performance issues
  • 2+ years of Experience with REXX

Preferred Qualification:
  • 3 + years of Experience with Informatica Power Exchange Administration
  • 3+ years of Working knowledge for each of the following:
    • z/OS Operation
    • z/OS Networking - VTAM (Virtual Telecommunications Access Method), TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol)
  • 3+ years of Working knowledge of each of the following:
    • z/OS-centric automated job scheduling and management software (JOBTRAC)
    • Terminal Emulator Software (BLUEZONE)
    • VTAM Session Manager Software (VTAM/SWITCH)
  • 3+ years of Working knowledge of:
    • SMP/E (System Modification Program/Extended)
    • RMF (Resource Measurement Facility)
    • SMF (System Management Facility)
    • WLM (Workload Management)
    • JCL (Job Control Language)
    • GRS (Global Resource Serialization)
  • 3+ years of Working knowledge of:
    • VSAM (Virtual Storage Access Method)
    • TSO (Time Sharing Option)
  • 3+ years of Experience with TLS configuration (certificates, SSL - RSA Keys, SFTP, FTPS)
  • 3+ years of Experience with SCLM (or other similar configuration management tools), specifically configuration and administration of SCLM
  • 3+ years of Experience with CPM for JOBTRAC
