We are seeking a Ph.D.-level Lead AI Scientist to lead the next wave of innovation at Arch Systems. This individual will be responsible for advancing cutting-edge multi-modal AI systems, architecting robust and explainable AI frameworks, and translating AI R&D into scalable, secure federal deployments. This role will directly influence emerging applications such as Model Context Protocols (MCP), federated learning, real-time AI for cybersecurity, and generative systems for healthcare, regulatory, and mission-critical government environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead R&D and enterprise deployment of multi-modal AI systems (text, image, voice, geospatial, and structured data fusion)
- Design and implement Model Context Protocols (MCP) for contextualized inference across distributed models and datasets
- Guide the use of LLMs, graph embeddings, transformers, and advanced MLOps frameworks for decision science and forecasting
- Serve as chief architect and advisor on high-impact government projects involving AI for cybersecurity, NLP, predictive analytics, and robotic process automation (RPA)
- Ensure compliance with Ethical AI standards, FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST 800-53, and HHS AI Governance
- Develop and oversee adaptive and context-aware AI agents, collaborating with Human-Centered Design experts to ensure usability and trust
- Mentor AI/ML teams and represent Arch in technical forums, federal AI research consortiums, and innovation councils
Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in AI/ML, Computer Science, Computational Neuroscience, or a related field
- 10+ years of progressive AI/ML experience with demonstrated success in production environments
- Strong experience with multi-modal AI, generative AI (e.g., LLMs, DALL-E, diffusion models), and real-time analytics
- Demonstrated experience implementing model lifecycle governance, federated learning, and data minimization strategies
- Proficiency in tools such as Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Docker, Kubernetes, R, NLP pipelines, and MLflow
- Prior leadership in DoD, HHS, CMS, or similar federal AI programs
- Exceptional ability to translate technical solutions into mission impact
Preferred Experience:
- Contributions to open-source AI frameworks or peer-reviewed publications in top AI conferences
- Understanding of FHIR-native architecture, used in healthcare AI deployments
- Prior experience with ethical and explainable AI, including bias mitigation techniques and secure model deployment
- Knowledge of Zero Trust security and its alignment with AI systems
- Familiarity with GSA Schedules, IDIQ vehicles, and proposal support for AI-centric opportunities
