Position Overview:
Are you passionate about shaping the future of tech? We are seeking a dynamic and innovative High School Information Technology Teacher to join our faculty in Mercer County, NJ. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT and computer science and a commitment to preparing students for 21st-century careers through hands-on, project-based learning.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons in IT and computer science.
Teach topics such as coding (Python, Java, HTML/CSS), networking, cybersecurity, databases, and digital literacy.
Promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration through real-world tech projects.
Utilize tools like IDEs, coding platforms, virtual labs, and Google Workspace.
Assess student performance through quizzes, projects, presentations, and practical tasks.
Communicate with parents/guardians on student progress and achievements.
Ensure ethical use of technology and teach digital citizenship.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
Valid New Jersey Teaching Certification Teacher of Computer Science, CTE (Information Technology), or appropriate endorsement.
Strong subject knowledge and teaching ability in IT and computer science.
Passion for teaching and empowering students with digital skills.
Preferred:
Familiarity with New Jersey CTE pathways and/or ISTE standards.
