Job Details
Piper Companies is seeking a Azure Cloud Automation Engineer to join an established and highly reputable cyber security company with 100% remote work. The Azure Cloud Automation Engineer will design and automate secure cloud infrastructure tailored to CMMC and NIST 800-171 compliance requirements. This role plays a key part in delivering secure, scalable, and repeatable solutions for clients in regulated industries.
Responsibilities of the Azure Cloud Automation Engineer :
D esign, build, and maintain infrastructure automation tools using Go and Python
Develop and manage Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform and Ansible across multi-account Azure and AWS environments
Architect and implement CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI and GitHub Actions to streamline secure and scalable cloud deployments
Collaborate with professional services, operations, and other automation engineers to identify opportunities for platform improvements and deliver impactful solutions
Contribute to the evolution of our internal platform infrastructure and tooling frameworks
Support cloud automation initiatives related to security, compliance, provisioning, and orchestration
Participate in Kanban workflows and agile practices to prioritize work, provide visibility, and drive continuous improvement
Define standard operating procedures of code, systems, and deployment processes
Qualifications of the Azure Cloud Automation Engineer:
6+ years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure automation, or platform engineering
Demonstrable experience with infrastructure-as-code and automation tooling in multi-account cloud environments
Proven track record of designing and implementing CI/CD systems and automated deployment pipelines
Advanced proficiency in Go and Python for backend development and automation tooling
Strong experience with Terraform and Ansible in large-scale, multi-cloud environments
Deep understanding of AWS, with practical experience supporting Azure and Google Cloud Platform
Proven ability to build and manage robust CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
Solid knowledge of DevOps best practices, including infrastructure provisioning, secrets management, and automation patterns
Experience working in agile environments using Kanban or similar methodologies
Strong communication skills and a collaborative, mentorship-oriented mindset
Exposure to additional scripting languages or frameworks supporting automation tasks.
Experience working on internal tools and general engineering support in a professional
Compensation of the Azure Cloud Automation Engineer:
Salary Range: **$73 - $100/hr**
