Job Summary
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Scrum Master to support our upcoming initiatives. This role will be responsible for coaching, guiding, and leading up to two Scrum teams through Agile processes with a strong emphasis on collaborative, team-tailored execution. The ideal candidate will bring exceptional interpersonal skills, the ability to flex their coaching style to meet diverse team maturity levels, and a strong understanding of Agile principles applied in pragmatic, real-world environments.
This position is a replacement for a prior contractor and will be integral in supporting two key areas: one established data foundations team and another smaller team still transitioning into product-based work. The successful candidate will need to help both teams operate efficiently within the product model while fostering collaboration and engagement across cross-functional groups.
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership and coaching to Scrum teams to adopt and optimize Agile practices in a way that fits their specific needs.
Act as a key consultant to Product Owners in building and maintaining roadmaps, release plans, and long-term strategic vision.
Facilitate sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, and demos.
Drive process improvements through Agile best practices tailored to individual team dynamics.
Help teams identify and eliminate impediments to productivity and morale.
Promote transparency, accountability, and cross-team collaboration.
Work closely with business stakeholders, engineers, and product managers to ensure goals and timelines are met.
Use metrics and team feedback to continuously refine team performance and product delivery.
Encourage and model a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to problem solving.
Contribute to building an Agile Center of Excellence and broader organizational adoption of product-oriented mindsets.
Preferred Background & Skills
5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master in Agile environments, preferably working in product models and cross-functional teams.
Experience coaching teams of varying maturity levels, including new and transitioning teams.
Strong background in financial services and experience with data migration and data tools such as ETL pipelines and Snowflake.
Experience working with Salesforce teams is a plus.
Must have demonstrated success in team coaching, engagement strategies, and improving team output and cohesion.
Strong understanding of Scrum and Kanban frameworks. Candidates who are heavily SAFe-oriented or rigid in methodology will not be a fit.
Ability to guide team members and leadership in aligning Agile principles with business strategy.
Highly articulate communicator and strong driver of team initiatives.
Experience working with Jira, Confluence, and other Agile collaboration tools.
Exceptional emotional intelligence, adaptability, and critical thinking.
Important Notes
This is a non-exempt contract role with a possibility to extend, but not guaranteed to convert.
The selected hire will work with both the data foundations and Salesforce-adjacent teams and must be able to support teams of various sizes and agile fluency.
