For this 3 year contract, the AV Technical Analyst will be a subject matter expert in audiovisual systems including telecommunication, information technology infrastructure, and audio-visual infrastructure. Working closely with project managers, architects and engineers, and facility management administrators, the incumbent will have broad knowledge and experience in AV systems and equipment. The incumbent will review and advise on multiple capital projects and facility modifications and act as a resource for providing technical assistance on projects during bidding, design, permitting, and construction.
Description of Tasks and Responsibilities |
Provide audiovisual system design expertise including telecommunications, information technology infrastructure, and audio-visual infrastructure. |
Provide expertise in conjunction with enterprise architects, project managers, and engineers. |
Assist in AV infrastructure initial builds, upgrades and assist with costs, return on investment and future planning. |
Work with stakeholders to support integrated AV systems. |
Troubleshoot technical issues with integrated AV systems. |
Work with AV vendors and AV equipment manufacturers to escalate complex technical issues. |
Provide and plan project management task relating to AV installations for complex programs or sessions. |
Assess and adjust technical solutions for specific business needs. |
Work with Facilities Services and other stakeholders in planning of new AV integrations. |
Manage, schedule, and coordinate AV vendor visits. |
Assist with AV project and equipment procurement process. |
Spec AV equipment and systems. |
Research and development with AV. |
Minimum Job-Specific Skills/Qualifications Required (in order of relative importance):
- Support the low-voltage engineering specialist in completing the AV projects in SF and Sacramento conference centers and facilities, including AFRs and ongoing preventative maintenance projects.
- Support the committee meetings in SF and Sacramento conference centers by attending the meetings in person at the location the meeting is being broadcast from to avoid any AV glitches during the webcast.
- Provide design review of the plans created by contracted firms for AV systems including network infrastructure, data, voice, audio/visual, and other low voltage systems for multiple capital projects and facility modifications.
- Advise project managers on technical aspects of AV systems in capital or facility modification projects.
- Review engineering designs and construction documentation.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Troubleshoot AV systems in existing courthouses.
- Assist in Contract Management and Administration.
- Assist in drafting technical scope-of-work descriptions for RFQs/RFPs related to AV work.
- Review contractor invoices to ensure compliance with contracts and amendments and to verify that work has been completed.
- Interact with contracts group as needed to answer technical questions about contracts, and amendments.
- Develop AV system standards and guidelines.
- Implement and maintain effective protocols and procedures for compliance to the Client's Facilities Standards for AV systems.
- Conduct site visits during construction for compliance with the Client's Facilities Standards.
- Review AV infrastructure and equipment in capital projects and facility modifications for compliance with the Client's Facilities Standards.
- Coordinate implementation of converged network in capital projects.
- Provide training to internal staff and user groups.
Additional Skills/Qualifications Desired: Bachelor s degree, preferably in a directly related field that would provide the knowledge and skills necessary for technical facility and construction engineering. Additional directly related experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. Must have ability to travel. CTS certification from Infocomm International Knowledge of commercial audiovisual system design gained by working as an audiovisual engineer for either a contractor or consultant Familiarity with AMX and Crestron control systems Familiarity the capabilities of Biamp audio equipment Certified Telecommunications Network Specialist (CTNS) CompTIA Network+ Certification Knowledge of Cisco equipment, Converged ethernet and IT networks |
